Education: Mr. Scholz received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Purdue University.

Experience: Mr. Scholz has over 50 years experience in the construction industry on a vast array of project types including hotels, office and commercial buildings, manufacturing facilities, warehouses and industrial buildings, medical facilities and parking structures.

After 22 years of engineering and construction work experience on the mainland, Mr. Scholz came to Hawaii in 1972 and has remained active in the Hawaii market ever since. Between 1972 and 1981 Mr. Scholz managed the estimating and operations for Swinerton Walberg Co.

Mr. Scholz’s consulting experience in project management and estimating is extensive. Since 1981 Mr. Scholz has provided construction consulting services in Hawaii and has work on the following representative projects:

• Hemmeter Resorts at Waikoloa, Maui and Kauai
• Hanalei Plantation Condominium
• C. Brewer Methanol Plant – Island of Hawaii
• Pacific Island Club – Hotels in Saipan & Guam
• Ritz Carlton Hotels at Mauna Lani, Hawaii and Kapalua, Maui
• Ko Olina Golf Clubhouse
• Four Seasons Hotel – Island of Hawaii

As a chief estimator and operations manager with Swinerton & Walberg in Honolulu in the 1970’s and early 1980’s he provided construction estimating and project bid management on the following representative projects:

• Sea Mountain Golf Course, Ka’u – Island of Hawaii
• Royal Kahana Condominium – Maui
• Royal Iolani Condominium - Honolulu
• The Hemmeter Center (Hyatt Regency Waikiki) - Waikiki
• Waikiki Trade Center – Waikiki
• Admiral Thomas Condominium - Honolulu

Mr. Scholz is a licensed contractor in the State of Hawaii and a Registered Professional Engineer in Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky.
